Ecatepec, Mex.- Municipal police of Ecatepec in coordination with elements of the Attorney General of the State of Mexico (FGJEM), arrested 17 people -15 women and 2 men-, allegedly involved in bank fraud and secured an office set up as a call center, located in the Anahuac Valley neighborhood.
The corporations received a citizen complaint, so the municipal security agents and the FGJEM, provided support to a victim, who reported that inside the property located on the central avenue the office operators retained his bank card, which is why he requested the intervention of the authorities.
Upon arrival at the place, the uniformed officers noticed that in the property there were various cards from banking institutions, computers and telephone lines, from where it is presumed that calls were made to request information from cardholders and with deception force them to make money transfers or purchases. , and even to process credit cards that were not delivered to them.

The members of public security and the prosecutor’s office questioned the suspects about the activities they carried out on that site and some admitted that they were engaged in processing credit cards, for which they made telephone calls to request personal data from the victims.
The detainees were presented at the Public Ministry agency of the Attorney General of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) to determine their legal situation.
In April, 30 people were detained by municipal security agents after they were caught in a fake call center in the Guadalupe Victoria neighborhood.
