The Yankees general managerBrian Cashman, put an end to doubts about whether the New York organization would be considering acquiring a new closer pitcherfacing the 2023 MLB season.
“We have a closer. In fact, I feel very good that Clay Holmes be our closer next season.” Cahman recently told various media outlets.
With Cuban Aroldis Chapman’s contract with the Bombers expiring at the end of last season, there was a question as to whether the front office would go after a new closing arm in free agency or through a trade, however, after the Cashman’s statements made it clear that he will be at stake with the 29-year-old right-hander.
