AMLO says to Arturo Zaldívar

The President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador disagreed with president of the SCJN, Arturo Zaldívar, about the case of Judge Samuel Ventura Ramos which has issued 120 acquittal sentences against those implicated in the disappearance and murder of the 43 normalistas from Ayotzinapa.

“I do not agree with him, I respect him a lot, but it is the same old refrain: that it is not the fault of the judges but of the Public Ministry that does not integrate the investigation well. It’s both their fault.”

Arturo Zaldívar has rejected the President’s criticism of judges who freed defendants in the Ayotzinapa case, recalling that they were victims of torture and that the then PGR investigation was flawed.

At a press conference, at the National Palace, the Citrus Chief Executive recently released those involved by Judge Ventura Ramos due to failures in due process.

“That they couldn’t do a minimal review and return the file and tell the MP to reinstate the procedure. How if there is torture is not investigated and the torturers are not denounced “.

He reiterated his respects to the president of the Judiciary, but censured the releases by pointing out that it is not possible for it to continue happening.
