When the dukes of sussex announced in 2020 that they were leaving their royal duties and moving to California, they did not yet have a home in America. However, the pandemic put pressure on them.
So the prince harry Y Meghan Markle received an invitation from comedian and filmmaker Tyler Perry to stay at his luxurious Beverly Hills mansionwhere they spent several months before purchasing their home in Montecito.
In an interview with Today, the 53-year-old producer, who was promoting his movie “A Jazzman’s Blues”, which premieres this September 23 on Netflix, said that he was inspired by Harry and Meghan’s love: “What I know about the two of them, and I wish the world knew, is how much these two people love each other.”
That is why he offered his house to the couple who resigned from their duties with the British monarchy. “It’s really heartwarming and I wanted to do my best to support them.“He said referring to the love he detected in the dukes.
Tyler said on the show that Meghan and Harry were going through a very difficult time. The couple only had Archie, who was then a year old.
Meghan had told The Cut that Tyler contacted her when she married Harry in 2018. He told her he was praying for her and “understood” the intense pressure she was under. According to Meghan, she Tyler also told her that if she ever needed advice, she could reach out to him, which she did.
The bond they had was such that Tyler offered them his house. On Today, the comedian said: “If I don’t have that, what she and Harry have, I don’t want it.”
So Tyler became the vehicle for the Sussexes to move to America.
