HUIXQUILUCAN, Mex.- The road bridge of Creole Palm in Interlomas closed for 24 hours after the 7.7-degree earthquake recorded on September 19 and will not open to circulation until federal and state authorities issue official written opinions that there is no risk, said the coordinator of Huixquilucan Civil Protection Alfredo Gutierrez.
The bridge has no faults or damage, as determined by three expert reports from state and municipal Civil Protection and a DRO (Director Responsible for Works).
The alleged damage to its structure was only a “badly focused photo”, however, to rule out giving certainty and security to citizens, the local government awaits the written opinions of state and federal authorities from the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation, the city official said.

“As soon as we have the opinions of the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) and the State of Mexico” issued by experts, the pertinent decisions will be made, reiterated the head of Huixquilucan Civil Protection.
The closure of the Palma Criolla road bridge, which connects the Interlomas Viaduct with Bosque Real, was ordered by the municipal president Romina Contreras as a security measure, after a video and images of “a photo with a bad focus” went viral, after the earthquake registered at 1:05 p.m. yesterday, Monday, asserted Alfredo Gutiérrez.
