At the end of the video, after hitting a customer and approaching several others with the axe, the man appears to leave with his bicycle, although he was arrested on the streets of the place.

Michael Palacios was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, three counts of threats and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

According to the version in The New York Post, the discussion was started by a girl, “then the girl rejected him… She didn’t want to talk to him. He kept getting closer to her… that’s when the guys she was with stepped in and started arguing.”

Meanwhile, the company also issued its position: “The safety of our customers and crew is always our top priority,” McDonald’s restaurant owner and operator Paul Hendel said in a statement.

“We are shocked by these acts of violence committed in our restaurant and we are fully cooperating with the authorities in their investigation,” he said.
