A video was released showing two minutes of the incident between the man and several customers. The video, with more than 26 million views, showed a fight before Palacios’ wrath, as well as the destruction of property.

Michael Palacios was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, three counts of threats and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

According to the version in The New York Post, the discussion was started by a girl, “then the girl rejected him… She didn’t want to talk to him. He kept getting closer to her… that’s when the guys she was with stepped in and started arguing.”

Meanwhile, the company also issued its position: “The safety of our customers and crew is always our top priority,” McDonald’s restaurant owner and operator Paul Hendel said in a statement.

“We are shocked by these acts of violence committed in our restaurant and we are fully cooperating with the authorities in their investigation,” he said.
