Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, was captured during the state funeral and burial of Queen Elizabeth of Great Britain with a tear, in a photo that has gone around the world.
The image shows her reaction while she, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, Queen Camilla and King Charles participated in official activities.
The presence of William and Harry, walking side by side behind their grandmother’s coffin, recalled the day when, 25 years ago, as children, they took part in a similar procession to the funeral of his mother Diana, Princess of Wales.
The brothers’ relationship has been strained since Harry and Meghan left their royal duties and moved to the United States in 2020, but after the queen’s death they seem to be united in grief.
After the service, the coffin was carried from Westminster Abbey to Wellington Arch in central London.
Meghan was one of the few members of the royal family who was vulnerable during the funeral. She here she can be seen walking behind Queen Camila, who remained unscathed.
Markle wore the diamond and pearl earrings the late monarch gave her, as well as a Stella McCartney gown she had previously worn, PageSix reported.
