Faculty of Medicine reactivates its reading club – Yucatan Now

The Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Yucatan (UADY) resumed the “Carlos Urzaiz Jiménez” Reading Club in person, aimed at those who make up the Health Sciences Campus.

The person in charge of the Cultural Program of the Faculty, Roberto Cedillo Rivera, explained that the promotion of reading is an important part of the promotion carried out in the institution, and although this club was held virtually during the contingency, he celebrated the return to face-to-face activities so that the students have greater interaction.

He recalled that this activity, to be held on Tuesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room of the Faculty of Medicine, is for Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, and Chemistry students, but also for society in general.

“Reading is universal, so we restart this September 6 with high expectations, although we have the Reading Zone where they can take a book and sit down to read, in this club we want, in addition to stimulating reading, to reinforce the social fabric and healthy coexistence, especially after two years in which they could only interact through the screens”, he explained.

He described this workshop, which will be taught by the person in charge of the UADY Reading Promotion and Activation Program, Raúl Lara Quevedo, as a different space that seeks to relate reading to any other activity and to be able to debate from any trench, linking learning.

People interested in participating in this Club can register or request information by sending an email to [email protected] or by leaving a message on the Facebook page of Leer UADY.
