For these summer vacations, the Ministry of Health (SSa) issued preventive notices for monkeypox, wild poliovirus and poliovirus.

Regarding monkeypox, it recommends “informing yourself of the current epidemiological situation of the country to which you intend to travel. Avoid close contact with people who have skin or genital lesions; practice safe and protected sex; elementary hygienic measures; avoid contact with dead or alive wild animals and avoid eating or preparing wild game meat”.
In the case of poliomyelitis, ask to make sure you have your complete vaccination schedule against this disease; take extreme preventive measures, do not touch your nose, mouth and face; consume well-cooked food and drink bottled, boiled or disinfected water.
He recalled that, in minors, the inactivated poliovirus type 1, 2 and 3 (IPV) vaccine effective against poliomyelitis is applied, included in the component of the Hexavalent vaccine and applied in a four-dose scheme (2, 4, 6 and 18 months of age). Meanwhile, for adults, Mexico does not have an IPV reinforcement application, said the Ministry of Health.
It also reported that the disease has been detected in Afghanistan, Benin, Burkina Faso, the Central African Republic, Chad, the Ivory Coast, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritea, Ethiopia and Gambia.
