MEXICO CITY, August 14 (EL UNIVERSAL).- On Saturday night Javier “Chicharito” Hernández scored a Panenka goal with the LA Galaxy.

The Mexican striker took a penalty in the 19th minute to make it 2-0 at the time on the scoreboard.

This annotation occurred in the duel between the Angelenos and the Vancouver Whitecaps of the MLS.

The dominators of the MLS are the rivals of the city of the Galaxy, the LAFC, with a streak of six consecutive victories, reports EFE.

Coach Steve Cherundolo’s team overwhelmed Charlotte FC 5-0 to the rhythm of its Latino players. The Colombians Jesús Murillo and Cristian Arango, the Mexican Vela and the Ecuadorian José Cifuentes starred in the Los Angeles win, culminating in the 5-0 in the addition of an own goal by the Englishman Anton Walkes.

Vela signed his eighth goal of the course by beating the rival goalkeeper in one hand, with an accurate shot from his left leg.

The Welshman Gareth Bale, five times European champion with Real Madrid, was not there, who has already scored two goals in his new stage in the MLS and had scored last week against Real Salt Lake.

Driussi, top scorer

LAFC is the leader with a six-point advantage over Austin FC, with one game in hand, although the Texans continue to fight and keep their pressure alive.

Sebastián Driussi culminated the vibrant comeback against Sporting Kansas City, scoring the goal of the definitive 4-3 in the 93rd minute and reinforcing his status as the top scorer in MLS, with 17 goals.

And that the game seemed to be going downhill for Sporting Kansas City, who went into halftime ahead 3-1.

However, everything changed after the restart, when Austin, pushed by their fans, achieved a spectacular comeback. The Costa Rican Julio Cascante boosted it with the 2-3 and the Dutchman Danny Hoesen, with a masterful volley from his right foot, scored the 3-3 in the 85th minute.

Austin was not satisfied, they kept pressing with everything and collected the award in the 93rd minute, when Driussi picked up a loose ball in the penalty area and sent it to the bottom of the net with an accurate shot with his right foot.

It was his seventeenth goal of the season, adding to his seven assists. He leads the table of top scorers with a two-point advantage over American Brandon Vázquez, from Cincinnati.

Doublet

Among the other results, the valuable 3-2 victory of Inter Miami against New York City stands out, led by a double by the Spaniard Alejandro Pozuelo.

The former Genk and Toronto player scored the winning goal in the 85th minute, taking advantage of a serious defensive error by the Argentine Maxi Morález.
