Galilea Montijo is one of the most recognized celebrities on Mexican television. For almost three decades she has been in charge of giving life to various projects. Undoubtedly, the most outstanding to date is still Today, the Televisa magazine program that has elevated her. Beside Andrea Legarreta has formed one of the spoiled duos of the Mexican audience. However, her recent foray into Divine Neta program broadcast through the closed channel Unicable, has given a new impetus to his career.
In this broadcast, whose purpose is to discuss experiential issues with the female audience, Galilea has released one of the most interesting confessions remembered in recent times. Along with her panelmates, the topic they addressed was the stereotypes that women suffer in various areas of life. And that was where Montijo recounted her experience. The driver recalled that she has dealt with sexist comments for much of her career, such as “teibolera”a situation that he has learned to take better over the years.
“They told me a lot ‘it’s that teibol’. If it had been, I would say so. What’s more: how nice to be able to climb that way and open your leg that way. Sometimes I even say to my husband: ‘oh, ‘perate. I already had a cramp, it’s just that I wasn’t a teibol player,’” he said with a laugh. One of her companions Daniela Magun, told her that she, Galilea, has been by far one of the Mexican celebrities who has suffered the most stereotypes. And it is that she has not only had to face sexist comments, but also classist, according to her testimony.
Montijo recounted that in a show magazine a person attacked her harshly: “This woman, who besides I do not know her or myself, said: ‘synonym of naquez: Galilea Montijo’. I said: ‘ok, I don’t know her, she doesn’t know me’ ”, the host recalled about that chapter. Secondly, Paola Rojasnews anchor who also participates as a forum member in Divine Netsaid that many times the public is guided by the characters that appear on television, but, of course, that does not have to correspond to reality, much less be an exact portrait of someone’s personality.
Galilea began his television career in the early 1990s on Televisa. For thirty years she has always remained in the San Ángel company. Although she has had some participation as a soap opera actress, her main facet has always been associated with hosting programs. For example, she was in charge of presenting the reality show Little gigants, one of the last ones that enjoyed real success among the Televisa audience. Similarly, she has participated in comedy contests, as was the case withe Make me laugh and you’ll be a millionaire.
Last year in the book Emma and other ladies of the Narcothe journalist Anabel Hernandez wrote that Montijo had an alleged romantic relationship with AArthur Beltran Leyvaex-partner and later rival of Joaquín El Chapo Guzmán, who was shot down by the Navy in 2009. Hernández’s statement caused a stir in the media. Montijo, for his part, published a video on social networks in which he denied these accusations and established that his entire career has always been maintained in correct and legal terms.
Although the Galilean incursion into Divine Net was strongly questioned by the fans of the program —they argued that it was not necessary to include one more participant, in addition to the fact that she had an uncomfortable moment of reproach with Natalia Téllez— her role is becoming more and more important, it serves to ratify that her presence is of great use in any broadcast.
