Monica Lewinsky asks Beyoncé to change the lyrics of another controversial song

The album’s 11th track, “Heated,” is a joyous celebration of owning the queen herself, but a line in dance bop, where the word “spastic” is used to refer to “fret shaking”: “Spazzin ‘ on that ass, spazz on that ass” according to genius, has upset many. (“Spastic” refers to an involuntary medical condition that manifests itself in hypertonic muscles).

Coincidentally, singer-rapper Lizzo also dropped the term from her single “Grrrls” and re-recorded it in June after Time’s backlash. Some fans, frankly, seem tired of reminding artists to be sensitive with the ableist terms. “It feels like a slap in the face to me, the disability community, and the progress we’re trying to make with Lizzo. I guess I’ll just keep telling the entire industry to ‘do better’ until the music slurs die down.” one fan tweeted.
