BUENOS AIRES.- Four people died this Friday when crash a medical plane when trying to take off from an airport in the south of Argentinareported the Civil Defense.
The Lear 35A business class aircraft had moved to a minor patient from Buenos Aires to the city of Río Grande, in the province of Tierra del Fuego, extreme south of the Argentine territory. The incident occurred when undertaking the return to the capital with two pilots and two doctors on board.
“The plane did not manage to take off the nose when it reached the end of the runway” of the Gobernador Ramón Trejo Noel International Airport, informed Sebastián Águila, of the local Civil Defense delegation.
So far, the identities of the victims have not been released.
Regarding the causes of the accident, Águila indicated that the crew “had no no help communication according to what the aeronautical authorities informed us” before getting lost.

The plane had made a technical stopover at the Comodoro Rivadavia airport — Chubut province — to replenish fuel prior to its arrival in Rio.

For now, the Transportation Safety Board (JST) confirmed in a statement that it has already appointed an investigator and that “all the necessary mechanisms were put in place to guarantee access to the documentation and information required for the investigation.”

A cloud of black smoke and flames could be seen near the airport, according to images broadcast on social networks by witnesses to the accident.
The operation at the airport was interrupted.
