La Jornada – They arrest the cousin of ‘El Chueco’, linked to the murder of Jesuits

Chihuahua, Chih. The joint operation of state authorities, the National Guard and the Mexican Army in the Urique region achieved the arrest of César Iván PP, who was identified as the cousin of José Noriel Portillo Gil “El Chueco”, related to the murder of tourist guide Pedro Eliodoro Palma and of the Jesuits Javier Campos and Joaquín César Mora, in the Cerocahui temple.

In a statement, the Ministry of Public Security of Chihuahua (SSPE) reported that, in coordination with federal corporations, the arrest of two subjects occurred when they were traveling in a truck in possession of firearms and drugs, designated as Humberto BC and César Iván PP, and the latter is related to José “N” “El Chueco”.

“Security personnel who participated in the search operation for those responsible for the murder of two priests and a tourist guide in Cerocahui, ran into a truck manned by the two subjects, who tried to escape, in events that occurred on a road dirt road of the Cuiteco sectional, municipality of Urique”.

After the arrest, the SSPE seized them two .223-caliber long weapons, a .45-caliber handgun, in addition to ten portions of cocaine and five plastic packages of marijuana. The detainees, along with the insured, were placed at the disposal of the agent of the federal Public Ministry.

“The operations and the presence of the security forces of the three orders of government in Urique remain, with the priority of providing security and certainty to the inhabitants of the region and the capture of José Noriel Portillo Gil El Chueco,” announced the Chihuahua prosecutor, Roberto Javier Fierro Duarte, on Wednesday afternoon.

In addition, the National Institute of Migration issued a migration alert in the name of José “N” “El Chueco”, at the request of the Attorney General of the State of Chihuahua, to prevent him from evading the action of justice as he is accused of several crimes, including the murder of three people, two of them Jesuit priests, in Cerocahui, Chihuahua.

The immigration authorities announced that they will verify the entry-exit movements of the aforementioned person, through the 194 international transit points of the national territory, air, sea and land.
