Tim Cook had never spoken so clearly about Apple Glasses. Smile on the face: “stay tuned”

Tim Cook is an affable guy in their interviews. His southern accent makes him closer, giving the impression that he could tell us any Apple secret. But it’s not like that. To the questions of journalists and analysts about products and future plans of his company, Cook becomes a wall. And he doesn’t let go.

In a short interview with the China Daily media, it has not been like that. Moreover, the CEO of Apple has given unequivocal clues about the Apple’s future role in augmented reality and virtual reality. And she has done it with a most indicative half-smile.

Lots of excitement, lots of clues, but few Apple Glasses

I am incredibly excited about augmented reality as you can imagine. The most critical thing for any technology, including augmented reality, is to put humanity at the center. And that’s what we focus on every day. […]

Despite this, I think we are still taking the first steps of how this technology will evolve. I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunities we’ve seen in this space. Somehow, stay tuned and you’ll see what we have to offer.

The short interview has been published on video in the Daily China media, in its global version. The curious thing is that the journalist does not ask at any time about Apple’s plans. Not even if the company plans to launch Apple Glasses or when it would. It is Tim Cook himself who decides to make these statements.

Tim Cook confesses Apple glasses

Naturally, his words have generated quite a stir. Apple hardly comments on this sort of thing, much less willingly. We did see Cook saying that the wait for the Apple Car would be as exciting as Christmas Eve. But never something so obvious.

Will Apple Glasses be closer than we think? Better not get your hopes up and wait patiently

These statements contrast with an opening conference of the WWDC 2022 without a trace of the Apple Glasses, not even for the development tools. However, in successive sessions and workshops, Apple has announced ARKit 6, with support for 4K video, HDR, and high-resolution backgrounds. All of them, technologies that show that Apple is working on augmented reality, even if they don’t want to make it too public.

Any Apple Glasses announcement at WWDC 2022 will trigger copy from your competitors. Or so says Kuo

The truth is that there is more and more noise around the same river. And if it sounds, it’s because it has water. We may still be far away to see Apple glasses. But there is no doubt that there is something What awaits us on this front?
