A painting that was painted by British portraitist Jamie Coreth and was commissioned last year by the Cambridgeshire Royal Portrait Fund to be exhibited at Cambridge University’s Fitzwilliam Museum.

A job that Jamie Coreth defined as “the most extraordinary privilege of my life.” The portraitist chose to honor the city of Cambridge using the tones and colors of many of its historic stone buildings in the background of the portrait. In addition, the artist said that his intention was to portray the royal couple as “relaxed and approachable, as well as elegant and dignified.”

“As this is the first portrait to depict them together, and specifically during their time as Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, I wanted the image to evoke a feeling of balance between their public and private lives,” he added.
